King Street Apartments

King Street sits at the junction of Union Street, within the education quarter of Oldham town centre. With a multi- cultural population of around 100,000 people, Oldham is a town primed to serve its residents. The town centre boasts an array of large high street retailers, with many housed within the Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre. Residents can

also shop within the thriving independent quarter, where a number of independent retailers sell their goods within smaller shops and boutique stores. There is also an abundance of leisure facilities including Oldham Coliseum Theatre, and a leisure centre with a swimming pool, fitness studio and an indoor bowls hall. Furthermore, Oldham is currently poised for a massive Åí60m redevelopment which will continue the town’s regeneration, cementing it as a truly desirable place to live. Nestled within the Pennines, Oldham benefits from the wonderful countryside that it borders, particularly the Peak District National Park. Whilst its rural neighbour offers some amazing country walks and views, Oldham is also perfectly positioned for an easy commute into the buzz of Manchester City centre. This is because the King Street apartments are

just a short distance away from the Metrolink tram stop which provides convenient access into and around the City, just 7 miles away. Piccadilly train station is also 7 miles away, providing excellent transport links across the UK, making a commute to London, just over a 2 hour journey. Additionally, the M60 orbital motorway, which provides great links to all of the boroughs within Greater Manchester, is less than 2 miles away.

Oldham has a strong industrial history; recorded as one of the first ever industrialised towns, its economy was built up around the booming English textile industry. This proud history can still be admired today within the architecture of the town, as large cotton mills dominate the Oldham skyline. It really is a town steeped in history, but whilst proud of its rich heritage, Oldham is looking to the future and developing into

a progressive, vibrant commuter town. King Street embraces this progress, providing modern accommodation for residents looking to embrace the buzz of the cosmopolitan culture within Manchester, whilst sitting on the doorstep of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

THE CITY OF GREATER MANCHESTER

Greater Manchester is a metropolitan county which is home to ten boroughs including the city of Manchester. Covering nearly 500 square miles, Greater Manchester is a thriving urbanized region, landlocked by stunning rural landscapes provided by the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Merseyside and West Yorkshire.

The area became an industrial powerhouse thanks to the success of the textile industry in the 1800s. However today, Greater Manchester is home to a wide range of industry sectors including the arts, retail, finance and media. There are also five universities within the region, with many of their graduates benefitting from the numerous international organisations that employ staff from the local area. The success of the region in so many fields makes Greater Manchester a force to be reckoned with, and an exciting and prosperous place to live.

One of the most famous boroughs within Greater Manchester is Manchester City; cited as the UK’s second largest city and the third most visited in the UK, it really is a city that is alive with energy.

With an abundance of cafes, museums, art galleries, bars and music venues, Manchester’s social scene is second to none. In addition, the city is home to two premiership football teams and delivers magnificent shopping opportunities within the City centre and the Trafford Centre, meaning Manchester really has something for everyone.

On the east side of Greater Manchester you will find Oldham, where the King Street apartments are located; and with both semi-rural and urbanised areas, it offers an idyllic location for those wanting to settle in this thriving area of the North West.

LOCAL AREA
